Try a B&B for a better way to stay!

B&Bs are a better way to stay! You don't have to believe me - as an innkeeper, I may be slightly biased - but read this from Paul Brady, who writes for Gadling, an AOL Travel blog. The B&B he describes in his blog post happens to have many of the same attributes as Pheasant Field Bed & Breakfast: country setting, horses grazing out back, birds singing, and a relaxing atmosphere. Paul also mentions many of the "freebies" that most B&Bs offer: internet access, snacks, beverages, and a "make yourself at home" feeling!

I just love this comment from Paul: "But it took about three minutes at the Whistlewood Farm in Rhinebeck, New York for me to finally realize that the bed and breakfast is the world's greatest form of lodging." YES! Paul 'gets it'! If you have not tried staying at a B&B, read more about the experience and why you should give one a try. We would be happy to be your first B&B experience! Check availability now and book your stay with us.

Things to do in Carlisle PA

There are lots of things to do in the Carlisle area this weekend!

For Father's Day - treat your dad to lunch at Market Cross Pub and enjoy a brewery tour. Dads receive a Market Cross Sample Duo in honor of Father's Day!

Take a Hike! The Appalachian Trail Museum is celebrating its first anniversary. In addition to guided hikes, a nature photographer will talk about getting great nature pictures. There will also be stories from through hikers about some of their experiences.

Saturday is community day in Monroe Township - near Boiling Springs. The celebration begins at 4:00 PM and includes games, raffles, a rubber duck regatta, live music, and fireworks to end the evening. Come out to the Monroe Township Park on Boiling Springs Rd ( just north of the village) and enjoy the fun!

At the Little Theatre of Mechanicsburg, see the Tony Award winning Best Musical, "RENT". The show runs through July 3rd. The theatre is a small, very intimate setting for shows. You will feel as if you know the actors personally by the end of the show. Get ticket information and stay here at Pheasant Field Bed & Breakfast - we are only about 6 miles from the theatre.

To all you dads --- HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!

Celebrations In Carlisle PA

This is a week of celebrations at Pheasant Field Bed & Breakfast. Last night, one of our young guests graduated from Carlisle High School. She and her family are staying with us because they are moving out of their quarters at Carlisle Barracks. This young lady will be starting college at Duke University while her dad takes command of a brigade at Fort Bragg. Last night's graduation celebration included grandparents, aunts, and uncles from NYC, CT, and all around PA - all of whom stayed here at the B&B. What a fun group! We say Congratulations to "our" graduate and Best Wishes to the family as they move to North Carolina!

The next celebration this week is a wedding and reception to be held here on Saturday. More than 130 guests will gather to celebrate the marriage of Joe & Megan. We are so excited to be a small part of this wonderful day as they begin their new life together. Blessings to you Joe & Megan!
