Winter Getaway in Carlisle PA

The temperatures are falling in the Carlisle PA area. It will feel more like the holiday season and there are fun reasons to visit this weekend!
The Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet will present "The Nutcracker" this weekend and next weekend. This ballet is a favorite holiday tradition!

If you don't have time to bake those Christmas cookies, you can fine them at the "Christmas Cookie Walk" at St. John's Episcopal Church in downtown Carlisle. On Saturday and Sunday 12/9 & 10, you can purchase cookies all made by the local church members! All I can say is "YUMMY"!

We waited to start our decorating until after Thanksgiving. Now Pheasant Field B&B is "beginning to look a lot like Christmas"! Each guest room has its own little tree, a poinsettia, a music box, and a nativity scene. The common areas are "decked out" with greenery, ribbons, and other 'Christmasy' items. One more thing left to do - the Christmas TREE! Because we purchase a live tree, and leave it up until after New Years Day, we like to put up the tree later than lots of folks. We plan to do that next weekend. Watch for pictures of the BIG tree that Chuck will choose this year.

Remember that a getaway experience will make a wonderful Christmas Gift! Purchase a gift certificate online and receive a free cookbook to include in the special gift.
