Here in Carlisle PA tonight, the Carlisle Theatre will be featuring the Rocky Horror Picture Show - for only $5!

Tomorrow's breakfast here at the B&B, will be a healthy one (after all the Trick or Treat candy tonight): Whole wheat, oatmeal nut waffles with a fresh fruit topping. Add some fresh, hot coffee, nice fall weather, AND an extra hour of sleep (with the time change), and it sounds like a wonderful Sunday in Carlisle PA!

Happy Anniversary

Happy Anniversary to us! 16 years ago today, we purchased the small farm that is now Pheasant Field B&B. After 6 months we opened the B&B and have not looked back. We started with 4 guest rooms and added the "Cottage" after about 5 years. Then in 2004, we opened the new addition with pet friendly rooms and our special luxury suite. Join us for your own Anniversary getaway.

This is Parents' Weekend at Dickinson College and the Harvest of the Arts Festival in downtown Carlisle PA. I'm hoping to go downtown for some wonderful Apple Dumplings made by one of the local churches and sold at the Arts Festival. YUMMY!

It's a busy, busy time here in the area with the Hershey car show AND the Penn National Horse Show also happening at this time.

Hershey Car Show and Penn National Horse Show

The last guests for the Fall Carlisle Car show just checked out this morning. Tomorrow night folks begin to check in for the Antique Auto Club of America Hershey Car Show. Cars, cars, and more cars!

Other fun guests checking in tonight are some horses (and their riders) getting ready to compete in the Pennsylvania National Horse Show . Beginning October 8, the Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg will be the venue for over 1200 horses competing for a top prize of $75,000 in the Grand Prix de Penn National an FEI World Cup Qualifying Hunter Jumper event. It's so interesting to watch all the competition at the show. It begins with youth and local folks and ends with the BIG jump on Sat, 10/17. The horses are beautiful animals; the riders are are such experienced equestrian folks; and the trainers and grooms are all dedicated to the care and safety of the animals and their riders. Come enjoy the show!

And as if that's not enough for next weekend - it will be Parents' Weekend at Dickinson College AND the Harvest of the Arts Festival in downtown Carlisle.

Fall Carlisle Car Show

It's a BEAUTIFUL day today for the last car show of the season in Carlisle! We have mostly repeat guests staying with us - almost all of them attending the car show. Some are trying to sell interesting classic cars, some looking for special parts for their "project" cars, and some looking for just that "right" classic car. Whatever they want to do at the show, the weather will in total cooperation today!

We are still waiting for our monarch butterflies to break out of their chrysalis. we'll let you know and post some pictures when they begin their new phase of life and perhaps journey south.
